Wrestling is certainly not dead in the Finger Lakes and Section V For the second year in a row we had a record turn out with close to 330 participants at the Midlakes youth tournament. That is 100 wrestlers above our typical tournament. We had 170 in just the morning session of 5-6 and 7-8 year olds. We want to thank all for attending the past few years and growing this tournament beyond our expectations. Looking forward, we plan to open a second gym with additional Mats and referees. The added space will make for a more comfortable day and a shorter tournament. We all like to get home a bit earlier.
The level of competition was excellent with wrestlers coming from all over Central New York. Best of luck to all the competitors for the rest of the Season. We look forward to seeing everyone back again next year.
