I thought this article from syracuse.com of "The 52 Greatest Section III Wrestlers of the last 50 Years" was awesome and thought it deserved a share for the wrestling community.

https://www.syracuse.com/expo/sports/g66l-2019/01/103c7f76ae7547/the-52-greatest-section-iii-wrestlers-of-the-last-50-years-in-order.html

This got me thinking that somebody should put together a list like for the greatest Section V Wrestlers of all-time. Anybody want to take a crack at it?

I second DeAngelis. I've heard from way too many people in the know just how explosive he was.

I was around for Frank Deangalis and he was great for his time but in my opinion Yianni would at least major him just by take downs alone. I don’t think anyone is even close to Yianni in this conversation he won the national championship as an 18 year old true freshman after missing his senior year with an injury.

Feel free to give constructive opinions from your knowledge Marty. Not everyone on this forum is as old as your or watched wrestling in the 70’s or 80’s. Or you could create your own list of Section VIII and XI guys and post it on the LI forum. Be sure to include all the guys who were second at counties that are better than anyone who ever won it and also that guy who got bloody noses everyday in practice and cut from 170 to 91 his senior year.
