First I just want to say that I was real impressed with Kyle Gugel from Batavia. Pinning Derek Sweet (again) in the semi-finals and then taking on Grillo for a 6-1 loss is extremely respectable. So congrats to Gugel on placing second at Genesee Valley and I feel he could be the state rep for Division I.
Second, and I know I'm partial him being from Alexander, I would like to congratulate Jacob Gilmore at 130 at Genesee Valley for placing third. This was his first placing at a major tournament and I'm very proud of the kid. He was beating the guy from Marion who took first until the last 3 seconds when he tied it up and eventually beat Jake in overtime. So I just wanted to say great job guys and great job to all the placers at Genesee Valley, even 5-8 spots.
