Intercollegiate wrestling became a sport for the first time this winter at Olivet College because of the enthusiasm of Mike Cronmiller and Bill Telling, two students who are members of the mat team. They reported to athletic director Stu Parsell that there was strong desire for a mat team. Parsell, in turn, called for tryouts and 26 showed up. Stuart Brynn of the athletic staff thus became the first wrestling coach ever at Olivet. He is pleased with the enthusiasm for the sport. SOURCE: Battle Creek Enquirer, February 21, 1965.
